专利摘要:
A method of treating a boat bottom (2) comprising applying a material to the boat bottom (2) at least in the area extending from the water line of the boat (1) and downwards. The invention is marked by the fact that the material consists of a water-resistant grease (5) with a consistency such that it can be applied to said boat bottom (2) and remain at the boat (1)'s passage. 专利说明:

15 20 25 30 that it can be applied to said boat bottom and remain at the boat's course.
The invention is described in more detail below, partly in connection with an exemplary embodiment of the invention shown in the accompanying drawing, in which - figure 1 schematically shows a boat seen from the side - figure 2 schematically shows a cross section of a part of a hull wall.
Figure 1 shows a boat 1 comprising a boat bottom 2, which is surrounded by water when the boat is placed in the water.
Figure 1 schematically shows a cross section of a hull wall 1 of a leisure boat.
The present method of treating a boat bottom 2 comprises applying a material to the boat bottom 2 at least in the area extending from the water line of the boat 1 downwards.
According to the invention, the material consists of a water-resistant grease with a consistency such that it can be applied to said boat bottom 2 and remain at the time of the boat 1.
Figure 2 shows a cross section of a part of a hull wall, where the hull wall comprises a supporting glass fiber layer 3 and a gel coat 4. An applied fat layer is denoted by the reference numeral 5.
According to a preferred embodiment, the grease is of the water-solid grease type for lubrication of machine joints and ball bearings. Such fat is called i.a. consistency grease and ball bearing grease. hz docwork ansökstext.doc 2009-09-16 090171EN 10 15 20 25 30 According to one embodiment, the fat is vegetable.
According to another embodiment, the fat is petroleum based.
On the one hand, the grease must not have too low a viscosity, such as paraffin oil, because it causes the grease to disappear from the boat bottom relatively quickly when walking in the sea. On the other hand, the fat must not be too firm, because this promotes growth.
For example, fat of the beeswax type remains, but gives an overgrowth.
According to a preferred embodiment, the grease is caused to be applied to said boat bottom by means of a brush or roller.
According to another also preferred embodiment, the grease is caused to be applied by spraying on said boat bottom 2.
It has surprisingly been found that the grease remains even on a high-speed motorboat for an entire boating season, while most of the grease can be removed after the end of the boating season by washing the bottom of the boat with a high-pressure washer. A high-pressure washing machine sprays water from a nozzle, often with a pressure exceeding 20 bar.
It is desirable that grease is not applied over the waterline of the boat. In order to prevent growth above an applied fat layer, according to a preferred embodiment a self-adhesive strip 6 of a plastic material is applied around the boat along its waterline, where the strip 6 has a width so that growth of plants and animals is prevented around the waterline. The strip is applied before the said grease is applied. When the boat bottom is to be cleaned after drying, the strip 6. hz docwork ansökstext.doc 2009-09-16 090171EN 10 15 The present invention thus solves the problem mentioned in the introduction.
A number of embodiments have been described above. However, any suitable known grease which remains on the boat bottom and on which growth does not occur, or occurs only to a limited extent, can be used.
The present invention is therefore not to be construed as limited to the above embodiments, but may be varied within the scope of the appended claims. hz docwork ansökstext.doc 2009-09-16 090171EN
